Sea Creatures of Bonaire
(click on thumbnail for full-size image)
The most beautiful scenery in Bonaire is unquestionably under water. The waters are clear and filled with colorful, fancy corals and sponges as well as lots of fancy fish. I rented an underwater camera and you can see my first attempts at underwater photography below.

Brain Coral with complex, maze-like patterns

Lavender-colored Tube Sponges were common

Sea Fan waving in the current

Lobed Star Coral

Seahorse hiding among the branches (look closely)

Spotted Drum fish are zebra striped with long waving extremities

French Angelfish - fancy...

Lizard Fish - funny looking, huh?

Parrot Fish inside Brain Coral

The Hilma Hooker was sunk off the coast of Bonaire, and was quite an imposing sight

Parrot Fish in shallow waters (picture taken off the balcony of a restaurant)

Crab sitting along the rock shore of Bonaire
